AndyK1970 is just this guy, you know?

This site is more specific to my gaming and socials, those who know me are aware of my site with more technology oriented content on it.

I play Minecraft for fun, sometimes with my child Tam845, who is now a better builder than I am. On occasion I'll stream my gameplay over on Twitch, and sometimes I'll upload videos to YouTube, I'm also sproadically active on Mastodon.

Back in late 2022, Tam845 and I started putting together a Minecraft modpack called T&A Explore. We had grand dreams of making a modpack for the masses and recording wildly popular videos with it. The reality of modpack maintenance is a little different, with dependencies quickly breaking the spirit.

I now understand why so many modpacks, some very popular ones, are built on old versions of Minecraft. Trying to update the Minecraft version of a modpack is fraught with frustration and disappointment. More often than not, there will be one or two key mods that are simply not available for the version of Minecraft you want to move to. This leads to world breaking changes in the mods in a pack. Imagine having a world with months of play time in 1.19 and then thinking it would be cool to change to Minecract 1.20, only to discover that a bunch of your mods are simply no longer maintained and died in 1.19...
